CrossFit Games 2008

CrossFit athlete Jeralee CrossFit athlete Justin
Two of our Seattle-area CrossFitters, Jeralee Anderson and Justin Clark, are on their way to this weekend's 2008 CrossFit Games in Aromas, California.

J & J,

You both have worked hard become stronger, fitter, and more capable than when you started your journey to the Games. Approach your events this weekend like all your training sessions up to this point: embrace the unknown and the difficult and trust yourself. Dream big, learn as much as you can, and, above all, enjoy the experience.

We have had the pleasure of coaching your growth over the last weeks and months. Thank you for letting us all be part of chasing your goals and ambitions.

Sincerely,
Your CFES fan club

Best wishes to both. Hope they do well and have fun. What an experience!!

Remember - take names before you kick ass. It's easier to trash-talk somebody if you know their name.

Early results:
Looks like Jeralee, Justin, and Kallista rocked the 750m hill run... way to go

Dave Leys, one of the original stars of Crossfit, didn't even qualify for the final heat on Sunday. He's in 41st place after the first day! The level of competition must be insane.

Don't forget, Kallista was there taking names and then promptly kicking ass for CFES too! Here is an awesome video of her doing Sunday's workout - basically she did bodyweight clean and jerks....crazy.

There is a better quality video on the CF mainpage in WMV, and this particular shot shows how rough that BW CJ was for her (didn't show any of the other 29 successful ones though). She did awesome, and finished! Impressive isn't even the right word to describe her. She was also one of the few girls doing actual squat cleans and push jerks instead of thrusters like most of the top women.

By the way, next time there is a photo of me taken while in mid-air, I will be sure to wear my leather overcoat and boots, and also be dodging bullets.
