Physical Education

CrossFit Eastside visits LWHS

Lake Washington High School physical education class, learning about Dr. Izumi Tabata, and the IE1 protocol (you can see the joy of learning in the expressions on their faces).

Dr. Tabata's research suggests that intervals of 20 seconds of max-effort work and 10 seconds of rest tax both the anaerobic and aerobic energy releasing systems almost maximally. That's a lot of bang for a few seconds of suck!

Movin’ on up

Light at the top of the stairsOn March 18, 2007, Team CrossFit Eastside will be bounding up the stairs of the Columbia Center tower in downtown Seattle as part of our second year's participation in the Big Climb to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We want you all to come out and play with us this time around. (Our friends from Rainier CrossFit in Puyallup, Mt. Baker CrossFit in Mt. Vernon, and CrossFit Westside in Vancouver, BC, will be there too.)

For registration information, links, and updates (plus more funny pictures of Cap'n James), check out the CFES Big Climb page.

If warming the couch and watching a marathon of old Jeffersons reruns sounds more appealing to you than movin’ on up via stairs, you can join us in spirit and still support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by pledging online.

What about cardio?

Nature has no regard for this distinction."
